As I progressed through various roles to become a Wealth Manager, I learned a great deal about the team that now supports me as well as our clients. I am honoured to be part of a company that is dedicated to client service and innovation.

Michelina Chindiya

Tell us about how you contribute to the success of Carrick Wealth as an organization.

I work as a Wealth Specialist and contribute to the success of the company by really pushing the Carrick brand in the best way possible. I do so by being a good brand ambassador on whatever public platform I may be featured on, be it on BBC or Bloomberg, at workshops, or at networking events. I carry myself in a way that will represent the company in the best light possible, because working for Carrick as a Financial Advisor is something that I am very proud of.

What is the best part about your job?

The best part of my job is the fact that I get to sit in front of people such as fathers who are concerned about the wellbeing of their families, mothers who want the best education for their children, or just couples who are serious about their retirement. As such I have the opportunity to help them secure their financial future and gain peace of mind, which is something that I cherish.

Tell us about your personal and professional growth while working at Carrick.

Working at Carrick has helped me develop a lot of self-confidence which I have applied in various aspects of my life. And I have learnt to listen, to pay attention, and to actively demonstrate to others that I truly value their opinions and what they have to say, whether they are my clients or my colleagues.  I have also learnt to cut out any distractions that impede my ability to listen.

What is a typical day at work like for you?

My day begins early in the morning with me spending at least half of every day pounding the pavement developing a referral network or meeting with prospects in person. I also spend time establishing a strong digital presence and writing articles and posts for my LinkedIn page. As a Financial Advisor, I spend time servicing existing clients and reviewing client portfolios, answering client inquiries, and addressing outstanding issues before moving on to new business. This approach is also the best way to generate new business because clients who receive excellent service are happy clients who will make referrals. So prospecting, meeting clients, closing sales, marketing, customer service, and administration are the order of the day.
