Carrick is pleased to announce Fred van Niekerk has been appointed as the new General Manager of Carrick International
Carrick is excited to announce the appointment of Fred van Niekerk as the new General Manager: Carrick International. His appointment is effective from, 1 July.
Fred has been with the Carrick Group since its inception in 2014, working initially as an advisor, then Director and Regional Head: Western Cape going on to lead the Carrick Partners business division as its General Manager. In this role Fred led Carrick Partners as it worked to assist existing advisers and financial advisory firms in growing their practice via Carrick’s global wealth management offering.
Prior to joining Carrick Fred gained extensive career experience in the financial sector in the United Kingdom where he worked for over a decade. “Over my career in Financial Services, I have been fortunate enough to both advise and mentor teams in the UK and Africa. While the two markets are markedly different, the need for global financial advice is universal. I look forward to sharing both my experiences and my obsession with global financial advice with the Carrick International advisors and offices,” he said.
Carrick International currently has representation in Mauritius, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi and the United Kingdom with a pending license application in Kenya as well as a renewal in Botswana. “Turning to the business opportunity in Africa, our plan is to establish further ‘troops on the ground’ and develop an advisory force of 350 level four and above qualified advisors by December 2025 to be based in the following countries:
East Africa
West Africa
Southern Africa
This will allow Carrick International to provide international retirement and investment structures to the growing emerging affluent, mass affluent and high net worth individuals in these countries – both in terms of residents and expatriate communities.
I am confident that Fred is going to do a tremendous job leading this work for us”. said Featherby.
Fred and his family are based in Cape Town, where the father of two sons enjoys carpentry and fishing in his spare time.
