As a born and bred Capetonian, Melissa matriculated from Gardens Commercial High School in 1996 where she captained the girls’ basketball and cheerleading teams. In her career to date she has worked in property management, sales and rentals, finance, human resources, and insurance. Positions she has held include Senior Executive Assistant, Property Portfolio Manager, Senior Executive Admin Assistant, and Human Resources Admin Assistant. Being involved in project management entailed managing and executing mentor and coaching programmes. Melissa says as a proud wife and mother of a daughter her family means everything to her.

Melissa and her family enjoy being at the beach or having seaside holidays together, while she and her husband enjoy outdoor activities such as running, hiking, and cycling. She also enjoys cooking with her family, trying new things inspired by TV chefs such as Jamie Oliver, Gordon Ramsay and Nigella.
