Carrick Wealth’s Craig Featherby again one of 100 most influential people in the global industry

Carrick Wealth is proud to announce that its founder and CEO, Craig Featherby, has for the second year running been included on the International Adviser Top 100 list of most influential people in the global financial advisory industry.

For Carrick and the South African financial services industry this is a truly remarkable honour. Craig’s inclusion on the Top 100 list also comes just days after it was announced in London that Carrick had won two more International Adviser Best Practice Adviser Awards, bringing to 7 the number of these awards the Cape Town-based firm has won in four consecutive years.

“We congratulate Craig on this truly remarkable honour. Not only is it a fitting recognition of the leading role he plays as an innovative change-maker in the wealth management and financial advisory industry, but it also reflects the influential position to which Carrick has grown under his excellent leadership. Every one of us here at Carrick is truly proud of him,” says Operations Director, Rashay Makan.

International Adviser (IA) is known as the voice of the global financial adviser community. It is a leading information provider to the industry with which it engages through various leading publications, major events and prestigious best-practice awards given to top achievers in the industry.

Its glossy publication, IA100, celebrates the contribution to the industry of those it considers to be the top 100 most influential people in the industry worldwide, together with short biographies of each. You can read more on IA’s website at https://international-adviser.com/ia-100/#profile-craig-featherby.

According to IA100 editor Kirsten Hastings, the rationale behind the top 100 list is to recognise those individuals in the industry around the world who quicken the pace of change and improvement by developing new initiatives, forging ahead with innovation or simply leading by example. IA100 wants to recognise them as the contributions these individuals make can often go unnoticed or unheralded, she says.

For the second year now Craig joins this impressive and diverse list of key influential people across the global industry. The list includes leading financial advisers and CEOs from many top firms, wealth managers, professional service providers, specialist product providers, international life companies, regulatory bodies, trade bodies, platform heads, insurance companies and pension providers.

“Again, I am truly humbled by this honour of having been chosen to join my peers around the world on the IA 100 list,” says Craig. “But it’s not only recognition of me personally; it also shows that we as a firm made the right decisions when we launched some years ago and set out to bring positive innovation and introduce benchmark-setting standards to the industry.”

Craig is well known in the global financial adviser community, having worked in some of the top positions in the industry in Africa, the Middle East and Asia before founding Carrick Wealth. With its headquarters in Cape Town, Carrick has deep roots in Africa with offices in Johannesburg, Durban, Mauritius,  Zimbabwe, Botswana and Malawi.

Establishing Carrick Wealth in 2014, Craig focused on “the development of a respected, regulated and industry-regarded wealth management firm in Africa with a strong bias towards corporate philanthropy, which has led to the firm winning a string of rewards,” states the inscription for Craig in IA 100 2019.

Looking towards the future, Craig views as the biggest challenge the empowerment of clients to become part of the decision-making process. He says Fintech is a reality and believes that if firms don’t embrace better relationships with their customers, they could lose them to technology. He is also a firm believer in the continuous development of those working in the industry to continue raising standards and providing ever-better professional services to clients.
