Coming from a professional sporting background, I thrive in a high–performing team environment and have been very fortunate to work within a team that shares the same sentiment. Over the years my role at the company has evolved and I strive to continue to contribute innovative and practical solutions to the team. This ranges across the various aspects of the business ranging from client acquisition, to client engagement, client servicing and most importantly, to providing holistic advice to clients.
What is the best part about your job?
The dynamism of the industry we operate in, the variety of people we engage with daily and the satisfaction of seeing a client in a far better financial position than when we first met, based on the advice provided.
Tell us about your personal and professional growth while working at Carrick.
Working at Carrick has allowed me to feed a curiosity I have always had for wealth creation and management. The nature of our industry is dynamic and ever evolving, so from a professional growth perspective, I remain a student of this space by constantly learning beyond the qualifications obtained at various institutions. From a personal growth point of view, Carrick has created an environment that has allowed me to build on my strengths and constantly draw knowledge from the wealth of experience within the team. In turn this allows me to perform at my best when it comes to dealing with clients.
What is a typical day at work like for you?
I rise with the sun to get an early start to the day and catch up on the latest market updates and news. This is followed by internal meetings with the team and any administrative tasks that need to be taken care of. The rest of the day is spent engaging with existing clients, be it via telephone or meeting face-to-face, and meeting with prospective clients. I then finish off the day with a workout at the gym – a healthy body = a strong and clear mind.
