Ben de Kock Joins the Carrick Group as our new Pretoria Regional Manager
Carrick Wealth announces with great pleasure the appointment of Ben de Kock as our new Pretoria Regional Manager. Ben’s wealth of experience honed over 21 years across the financial services sector places him in a uniquely ideal leadership position to develop and grow this important region in the Carrick portfolio.
He joins Carrick after 5 years as a managing partner with a Momentum Consult franchise. Before that he spent almost 7 years at RMB Private Bank as Wealth Manager, and close to 8 years as Sales Manager, International Investment Management at Barclays Wealth and Investment Management. He started his career in financial services as an investment officer at Momentum after completing his BCom (Law) degree at the University of Pretoria in 1999.
“The Pretoria Region, which covers the northern half of South Africa’s financial and industrial heartland of Gauteng, is of paramount importance to Carrick both in the context of our current operations and in our plans for future growth and expansion. Taking on the leadership role here will be no easy task and will present its own challenges. But we are more than confident that Ben is the right person for this role, and we wish him well and look forward to having him in our team for many years to come,” says Bendall.
Apart from his BCom degree, Ben also obtained an International Capital Markets Qualification (Registered Persons Exam) from the Securities Institute London and has completed the FAIS RE5 regulatory exam. His previous positions gained him experience across the financial services sector in fields ranging from wealth management to portfolio management, private banking, business development, and sales management.
“I am excited to join the team and share my knowledge and experience of best practice with them, and I am confidently hopeful that together we will help Carrick grow to new, pioneering heights. In this new role I believe my 21 years of experience across the financial services sector will contribute to the already very successful mix and offering Carrick has in place and will make for an exciting outcome” he said.
Ben furthermore says he believes building lifelong relationships is key to preserving family wealth. He is passionate about protecting and growing wealth from one generation to the next. But it is perhaps his favourite quote by Richard Branson that sums him up best: “Complexity is your enemy. Any fool can make something complicated. It is hard to make something simple.”
