Carrick appoints Director of Acquisitions
Carrick Wealth today announced the appointment of Steve Brooks as Director of Acquisitions, effective immediately. Brooks will be based in the Johannesburg office.
Carrick Wealth has appointed Steve Brooks to the newly created position of Director of Acquisitions. The post was created to complement the company’s already impressive organic growth and expand its AUM.
Carrick Joint Managing Director Mike Potts said, “Steve will be focused on bringing in existing books, both international and SA local as well as attracting new advisers into the Carrick family. We believe his appointment is a huge opportunity to grow the company’s assets under management”
Brooks has spent over 20 years as an Independent Financial Planner in the UK, holds both the Certificate and the Diploma of The Personal Finance Society, and also spent 5 years as a qualified licensed practitioner with the Monetary Authority of Singapore. He had a very successful time in his appointment as a Senior Wealth Manager for The Henley Group in Asia, until his return to London in 2012 where he formed The Henley Group UK. Brooks played a leading role in the acquisition of The Henley Group by St James’s Place. Most recently he was based in Dubai where he served as the Regional Director for Credence International.
Carrick Joint Managing Director Greg Stockton said that he considers Brooks one of the most experienced advisers he has met, with the combination of both his UK qualifications and offshore experience.
“Steve is highly qualified and understands the importance of building long-term client relationships. He has specialised in assisting international investors, particularly professionals, high net-worth individuals, senior management, executives, directors, and entrepreneurs of all nationalities,” said Stockton. “He also saw through the implementation of the Retail Distribution Review in the UK and will be able to utilise that knowledge in the SA market.”
Brooks said he was delighted to accept the role with Carrick Wealth as Director of Acquisitions in South Africa.
